Volunteers
Nearly 211 caring volunteers at Samaritan Hospital find great
joy in helping others, and their warm and friendly
approach offer
patients and visitors a special level of care and assistance.
Not only do our volunteers enjoy helping others, but they
also enjoy many benefits, including:
- free flu shots,
- discounts in Sam's Café,
- free coffee and tea while on-duty,
- invitations to Samaritan's Annual Summer Picnic and Holiday
Meal,
- and recognition at the Annual Volunteer Recognition Meal.
Individuals may choose to volunteer in any of the following
services:
- Chaplains
- Emergency Department
- Gift Shop
- Messengers
- Reception Desk
- Tours
- Second Floor Reception Desk
- Special Services
Another important role the volunteers play is raising money
for Samaritan Hospital. An active Auxiliary Fundraising
Committee plans special events throughout the year, including
the popular Book Fairs, Card Party, Used Jewelry Sale
and a Holiday Bake Sale. In addition, Gift Shop volunteers
plan
special sales throughout the year, with all proceeds going
to Samaritan Hospital needed clinical and educational items.
