Samaritan Announces Addition of OB/GYN to Staff
Samaritan Regional Health System (SRHS) and Samaritan Professional Corporation announce the addition of Roopa S.P. Gupta, M.D., to their medical staff.
Dr. Gupta is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and offers a full-scope of OB/GYN services for patients 16 and up.
"Samaritan is very happy to welcome Dr. Gupta to our medical staff, as well as to our community.” said Danny Boggs, president and CEO of SRHS. “We think she’ll be an excellent addition to our caring staff of physicians.”
Prior to joining the SRHS medical staff, Dr. Gupta was in practice at Woman’s Care Group in Reston, VA. She completed her residency at State University of New York (SUNY), Downstate Medical Centre, Brooklyn, NY in 2007.
Dr. Gupta obtained her medical degree, a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), from Jadguru Jayadeva Murugarajendra Medical College in 1999.
Currently, she is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She is also a member of the American College of Physicians and the American Medical Association.
Dr. Gupta has relocated to Ashland County from Virginia with her husband, Sivaprasad Meda, and her daughter, Nidhi Meda, who is starting preschool this Fall in Ashland. They are also expecting a baby in November. Mr. Meda is looking for employment in Ohio in the surrounding area in the technology field.
Dr. Gupta is now accepting medicare and self-pay patients (and is currently applying for all major insurance panels with expectations to be approved by December 1 of 2008). Samaritan Adds Internal Medicine Physician Alexander Tucker, D.O.
Samaritan Regional Health System (SRHS) and Samaritan Professional Corporation announce the addition of Alexander Tucker, D.O., to their medical staff. Dr. Tucker is an internist.
"Samaritan is very pleased with the addition of Dr. Tucker to our staff,” said Danny Boggs, president and CEO of SRHS. “Dr. Tucker brings compassion and expertise in the care of patients and we couldn’t be happier that he has chosen to remain in Ashland.”
Dr. Tucker most recently practiced at Ashland Medical Services, and prior to that, at Licking Memorial Hospital as an Internist. He has an undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University, his Doctor of Osteopathy degree from the University of North Texas Health Science Center, and a post-graduate degree from Tulane University School of Medicine.
He began seeing patients on July 21 and appointments can be made by calling (419) 289-9800. His office is located at 350 Hillcrest Dr, Ashland, and he will be taking over the practice of Heidi Schecodnic, M.D., who will be relocating.
New patients are welcome, as well as former patients of Dr. Schecodnic. Dr. Schecodnic has informed her patients that her last day will be September 12.
