Event Information
Sibling Class
While the birth of new child is an exciting time, the soon-to-be
big brother or sister may have questions and anxieties about
his or her new sibling. We offer this class to children three
years and older to address these issues and to assure children
they are still loved and special even though things change
with the arrival of a baby. Once the children view the nursery
and maternity floor and enjoy refreshments, we help the
children make a special gift for the arrival of their new
sibling.
Breastfeeding Class
This class is taught by our own internationally certified
lactation specialist. Whether you are planning on breastfeeding
or have not yet decided, we encourage you to attend. In this
class, you will learn the benefits of breastfeeding, as well
as techniques for successful breastfeeding.
Childbirth Preparation Class
This class, which helps you prepare for the delivery of your
baby, is taught in five weeks of evening sessions, or a full-day Saturday course. In this class, signs and stages of labor, use of medications,
fetal presentation, relaxation and breathing techniques, and
comfort measures is all covered. We also give a tour of the labor and delivery
area. We ask that you schedule your class in an attempt to
finish the classes before your due date.
