Samaritan Birthing and Women's Unit
The mission of the Samaritan Birthing and Women's Unit focuses on
family-centered mother and baby care, as well post-care for gynecological surgery patients. We tailor care and education
based on each patient's individualized needs.
Our staff incorporates modern technology and security in a
comfortable and pleasant surrounding. We stay abreast of current trends and techniques to assist you during your birthing
experience. Our Birthing Unit professionals are excited to welcome
you and your support person. Our friendly and caring staff will make
you feel right at home.
Childbirth is a significant event in the life of a family. We recognize the importance of involving family and friends during this milestone. The Samaritan Birthing Unit offers Childbirth Education, Lactation, and Sibling classes to assist the mother-to-be and her family in preparing for the new edition. Certified childbirth educators and lactation counselors teach these classes.
Our certified childbirth educators have completed extensive training to teach the Childbirth Education Classes. A five-week evening, or a full-day Saturday,
course prepares the expectant mother and support person for the
delivery of the baby by covering signs
and stages of labor, use of medications during delivery, relaxation
and breathing techniques, comfort measures during labor, post-partum
newborn care, and car seat safety. Instructors utilize massage,
aromatherapy, and music relaxation in an attempt to educate mothers
on how to relieve tension during labor. For more information on classes, see our brochure (click here).
