CT Scanner Information

Samaritan Hospital offers an advanced Imaging (formerly known as Radiology) Department equipped to meet the community's imaging needs. Equipped with quality imaging technology, the department offers X-ray, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, interventional radiology, mammography at three locations, in-house Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), and the latest in computerized tomography (CT) services.

Registered technicians, licensed imaging technologists and board-certified radiologists conduct, examine, and interpret all diagnostic imaging test results to help physicians diagnose and treat various diseases and medical conditions.

SRHS expanded its imaging services first in 2002 by investing in a top-notch nuclear medicine camera and an in- house MRI unit. The 1.5-Tesla magnet MRI is a short-bore, beveled-end design that boasts fast, quality imaging for accurate diagnosis while providing patients the benefits of an airy environment.

In August 2004, SRHS improved further by installing one of the world's fastest CT scanners, called the Aquilion 16, which enables physicians to detect more efficiently and accurately problems that may be within the body.

SRHS communicates with each patient and provides informative pamphlets to help them understand what to expect and how to prepare for their procedure. We assure safety with a thorough assessment before testing, and we make the testing experience as stress-free as possible by offering headphones to patients so they can listen to their own music CDs.

Choosing SRHS for CT-Scanning, MRI testing, and other imaging services can save you time. We typically schedule patients within a day or two of their referral. Test results are reported back in a timely manner.
