Women's Wellness
Samaritan knows that as a woman, you carry a lot on your mind
with work, family, community services, and health issues. As
the primary caregiver of your loved ones, it is imperative that you
also take care of yourself!
Samaritan understands how difficult it must be to find that ever
important time to exercise, watch calories, look for slight symptoms
of illness when you are always on the go, and even schedule time for
a mammogram.
Others depend on you....so we'll let you depend on us!
From Our Heart to Yours
Women and
Heart Disease
Osteoporosis and Bone Health
Most Americans are not aware of their risk for osteoporosis or
the steps
they can take to prevent, diagnose, and treat the disease.
Osteoporosis
and low bone mass are a major public health threat affecting
44 million
American women and men age 50 and older. One in two women in
this age group are at risk for osteoporosis-related fractures.
The team at Samaritan Women's Health Services can help educate
you about bone loss and bone densitometry measurement tests. Joyce
Bemiller, RT(R)(M)(BD) CDT, technologist at SWHS, was appointed
by the International
Society for Clinical Densitometry (ISCD) as the Key Contact person
for the
State of Ohio. She also won the Super Tech of the Year award from them this year. ISCD is the world leader in bone densitometry education
and
certification.
