New Gift Shop Made Possible by Donor: Renovations Complete!
The construction of a new gift shop at Samaritan Hospital has been completed. This renovation was made possible by a $100,000 donation to the Samaritan Hospital Foundation, an anonymous gift given by a volunteer in honor of all Hospital volunteers. The Gift Shop is now open!
This project has transformed the Hospital’s Main Lobby aesthetically to allow for a more inviting atmosphere for visitors and patients upon their entrance to the Hospital.
As plans were being developed for the creation of the new shop, several gift shop volunteers were solicited, as they have become very familiar with customer’s needs and wants. There is much better traffic flow and the opportunity to showcase more merchandise. This allows for a better shopping experience as well as work environment for the volunteers.
All proceeds from The Gift Shop at Samaritan Hospital benefit SRHS each year. For example, last year $30,000 was raised in the Shop, which allowed the volunteers to purchase much needed items for the Hospital such as a Bone Density Screening Unit for the Radiology Department, Vital Signs Monitor/Pulse OX and Mobile Stand for Cardiovascular Services, a bedside scale for Med/Surg/Peds Inpatient Unit, an Ultrasound Unit for Rehabilitation, and a blood pressure training unit for Education and Training.
